About me

I am a graduate of the Fine Arts High School in Gdynia, specializing in exhibition design. I completed my studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, where I defended my painting diploma under the supervision of Professor Hugon Lasecki. Although painting became my primary artistic path, working with clay has always been close to my heart—during high school, I created miniature ceramic objects under the guidance of Professor Irena Zabrocka. Later, at university, I had the opportunity to refine my skills in ceramics in the studio of Professor Henryk Lula.

Throughout my studies, I applied my artistic abilities to create commissioned wall paintings and decorative murals in public and private spaces. I also worked on furniture restoration, embellishing pieces with artistic details. After earning my master’s degree, I moved to Warsaw and began a career in the film industry. For the past 19 years, I have been involved in set design, creating visual concepts for films and TV series, with a particular passion for interior styling.

Years of intense professional work left little room for personal artistic expression. It wasn’t until the pandemic that I was able to reconnect with my creative practice. Since then, painting has once again become an essential part of my life. I also recently returned to ceramics, and working with spatial forms feels as if this medium has always been a part of me.

My work is a story about the process of self-expression through gesture, an attempt to connect with my inner self and emotions, a pursuit of transcending my own limitations, and an echo of my sensitivity.

PAITING

Abstract painting has always been close to me, and I have chosen it as my primary means of communication. I am drawn to the concept of an open artwork, and I perceive my pieces, in the spirit of Umberto Eco’s words, as an invitation to a field of interpretative possibilities. The creative process, being continuous and undefined, allows space for free interpretation, both for myself and the viewer.

For me, painting is a journey—one in which I experiment freely, allowing the creative impulse to flow through me. I do not limit myself solely to rational thought; instead, I embrace the natural stream of emotions and intuition.

CERAMICS

My ceramic works have a more grounded form and a precisely defined shape. In my pieces, I balance on the edge, challenging the laws of gravity and striving to prove that weight can also carry a sense of lightness. The process of working with ceramics completely absorbs me—clay gives me a deep sense of connection with the earth, matter, and structure. It is a state of focus, filled with contemplation but also an energy that keeps me grounded.

In my creative practice, I seek to capture the unique dynamic that emerges from working with the material, fully aware that ceramics “do not forgive mistakes.” However, for me, this phrase holds a deeper meaning—I have learned that I do not need to strive for perfection. Mistakes are not a failures but opportunities for new discoveries. Every imperfect object is a reflection of both my creative journey and the nature of the material itself. It is within this imperfection that I find authenticity and beauty, which I strive to convey through my art.
